Motoclassic Wroclaw 2023

Hello chaps

At this stage this note is just a form of exploration of interest.

The Motoclassic at Wroclaw is on the horizon at 26th – 27th August 2023

I am wondering if any of you in the CCC were thinking of bringing a car and perhaps showing it ?

Here is link to one entertaining Motoclassic I attended in 2017 to give you some idea of the event.

https://casualcars.blogspot.com/2017/09/motoclassic-wrocaw-18-20-august-2017.html

I seem to have resumed the Chairmanship role of the CCC once more as an ‘Emeritus’ (with hopefully some help from CCC members) as I do not want the CCC to die after 10 years.

If there was sufficient interest I would attempt to reserve a dedicated CCC space for us to park and display some of our cars.

Please look at the website for registration costs and the programme of events if you want to take an active part.

You will have to pay for activities and registration at this event with the organizers independently of me if you are interested in taking part.

I am also committed with the Rolls-Royce Enthusiasts’ Club. In the past the RREC had adjacent areas with the CCC in front of the castle which I shall attempt to arrange again.

Is English sparkling wine fast becoming as good as Champagne? Can you even tell the difference? Many professional tasters certainly cannot ...

We'll be posing both these questions and looking to you for answers at a tutored tasting of English wines at the Bristol Hotel in Warsaw on Saturday, July 1. It is the final event in an English-themed series that has been taking place at the Bristol and will be in the Marconi Room.

Marconi Room, Hotel Bristol, Warsaw

Our tutor will be Tomasz Kolecki, President of the Polish Sommelier's Association and a three-time winner of the Polish Sommelier of the Year award.

He'll blind pour two English sparkling wines from Simpson's Estate in Kent and Champagne from Taittinger and seek your verdict.

Incidentally, one of the Simpson bubblies he'll be pouring  is being served in business class on all British Airways short and long-haul flights this summer. Taittinger has bought land near the Simpson's vineyards in the UK and is building a winery there.

After your verdicts on this, you'll be offered to taste single varietal English Pinot Noir, Petite Meurnier and Chardonnay, the three grapes used in the making of Champagne.

Gourmet English-style canapés will generously served throughout.

Hopefully I will also be presenting my photographic highlights from the Coronation of King Charles III  and the Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este 2023 both of which I attended.

Price per person is 350 zl

Should be an excellent and fun social occasion !

If you feel you may be interested could you put your name on the Doodle below in the time-honoured fashion.
